Takes a minute. Free, and no obligation.
The furniture is a few hours of work. The kitchen cupboards, the loft, the garage shelves and the drawer nobody has opened in years are what turns a move into a fortnight of boxes.
Packing as a service exists because it is the slow half of the job, and because how something is packed is what decides whether it arrives intact.
That is exactly why Quantum Moving does it differently.
Quantum Moving is a local moving team serving Alameda. Here is what packing services involve, and how to decide how much of it to hand over.
A full pack means every room is boxed for you. A partial pack targets the parts that take longest or carry the most risk, typically the kitchen, fragile items and the garage, while you handle clothes, books and anything you would rather sort yourself.
A packing service normally brings its own materials, including the specialist cartons that standard boxes do not replace, such as wardrobe boxes and dish barrels. Whether materials are itemised separately on the quote is worth confirming.
It depends far more on how much is in the cupboards than on the number of bedrooms, which is why the walk-through looks at storage rather than floor space. Kitchens and garages are consistently the slowest rooms.
Documents, jewellery, medication and anything you want to keep track of personally are usually better packed and carried by you. Everything else is a question of time rather than principle.
